Illinois Flooding

As a result of the current flooding disaster in the state of Illinois, The Lafayette Life Insurance Company has initiated the following measures to help safeguard policyholders in the affected flood areas:

  • Affected policyholders include those residing in the following counties: Adams, Calhoun, Clark, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Hancock, Henderson, Jasper, Jersey, Knox, Lake, Lawrence, Madison, Mercer, Monroe, Pike, Randolph, Rock Island, St. Clair, Whiteside, and Winnebago.
  •  Withdrawal of any lapse or expiration notices issued on or after June 10, 2008 on any in force policies issued to an affected policyholder and reinstatement for these policies with no lapse in coverage until August 18, 2008.
  •  No lapse or expiration notices will be issued to any affected policyholders until August 18, 2008.
  •  60 day extension for submission of claims, proof of loss, reporting of information or payment of funds.
  •  Lafayette Life will consider exceptions to policy or contract requirements when such contractual requirements are not met as a result of the flooding.
